Healthy Tips: Just got turned on to this amazing "ancient grain," the food of the future...Chia Seed. No, not Chia Pets! I just got my order of Chia seed and Brian and I were excited to try it out. I mixed 2 Tbsp. of the Chia seed with about 1/2 cup water and let it sit for about a half hour. The seeds had absorbed all the water and looked a lot like fish eggs. Thankfully, it didn't taste like it. They were rather tasteless when we mixed it in with our oatmeal the next morning. Brian noticed a more sustained endurance level as far as his energy was concerned. I noticed not getting hungry so quick as I usually do. I won't get into what it's all good for, you can do the research yourself. Check out these websites for more information:
Oh, and let me know if you come up with some good ways to incorporate Chia seed into your diet. Note: Someone told me they sell it at New Day. Have a happy, healthful week!
